Moving away from football for a minute, one of Monte Lee's baseball recruits was just named Player of the Year for his state. Max Wagner, 6-0 190 SS/Pitcher, was recently named the Wisconsin Player of the Year. As a hitter, he batted .507 with 5 HRs and 39 RBI/. As a pitcher, he was 8-1, with 76 K's, 11 walks and an era of 0.78. Wagner is one of the top players in the 2020 class. Coach Lee will still have the MLB draft to contend with regarding Wagner.
James Williams, the #1 safety in the 2021 class out of Opa Locka, Florida, announced his top 3 yesterday, narrowing his choices down to Clemson, Georgia, and Alabama. The top rated safety recently transferred from Western High School to American Heritage high school to finish out his high school career. Last season at Western, Williams had a dominant year. He again earned first-team All-County honors after making 62 tackles and intercepting six passes. He also had 139 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
