Two Additional Transfers for Coach Butler

Coach Amanda Butler added 8 new players to the 2019 Clemson Women's Basketball team. Ive already posted on 6 of them. Now lets add Shania Meertens and Nique Cherry.

Meertens is a 5-8 guard who transferred from Northwest Florida State College, where she averaged 10 points a game while shooting 42.1% from the 3pt line. She also spent one season playing at Stetson University, where she played under current assistant coach Daniel Barber. As a senior in high school, Meertens showed her all around talents by averaging 18.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 4.0 steals. She is the all time leading scorer at her high school.

Cherry is a 6-1 forward who transferred from Jones County Junior College. She led her team to a 30-2 record as a freshman, averaging a double-double, 13 points a game and 10.6 rebounds a game. As a high school senior, Cherry averaged 18 points a game to go along with 16 rebounds a game. Cherry is a much needed post player for Coach Butler, WITH experience.
